Visited this place after hearing much hype about Dosa. The place was packed!!!! Despite the reservation online we waited about 10-15 mins. Ordered their signature dosa based on recommendation from our host. Food was nice and fresh. I appreciate the fact that they chose to maintain the authenticity of the menu. As personally i am not really a fan of fusion. Staff were very pleasant, attentive and quick, given the walk-in traffic they see, their attitude was still very pleasant at 930 PM. Ambiance is quite decent, they have done a decent job in table placement in order to cater maximum people. However it still gives you this slight feel of cramped. But everyone seemed to be loving their food so i guess it’s not a problem. Overall a very nice place, food quality supports the hype!

Best dosa in GTA We ordered medu vada, ghee paper dosa with aloo masala, onion rava dosa with aloo masala and spring dosa with paneer. We ordered Limca and Thumsup as well. Dosas were out of this world. Spring dosa with paneer was on the spicy side. Recommend that warning be added to the menu. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Recommend making reservations as the place gets crowded. This is our go to place when we have dosa cravings.

Finally had the chance to dine in at Guru Lakshmi after several attempts, and I must say—it truly lives up to its reputation. I’ve never had South Indian breakfast in Canada that felt this close to home. The wait times and long lines make sense now. Service was quick, and the place is impressively clean and well-maintained. The Onion Rava Dosa is as delightful to eat as it is to look at. The Spicy Sambar Idly-Vada combo is a standout—definitely worth trying. Filter coffee is nearly perfect—ask for a stronger brew if you prefer a bolder taste.

Some of the best dosas I’ve had! The cheese and masala dosas are excellent - especially with their fillings. The dishes are huge and they are served quickly. Although there is a lot of seating, the place gets packed fast so I would recommend reserving a table beforehand.

We had an amazing and authentic South Indian dining experience. The highlight of our meal included the delicious mini idlis, Mysore Bhaji dosa (featured in the Toronto Star magazine), masala dosa, and the mouth-watering badam halwa. Each dish was freshly prepared and tasted exceptional, truly capturing the essence of South Indian flavors. We visited on a Sunday and had booked our table a day in advance. Even though we arrived 15 minutes early, the staff warmly accommodated us without any hassle, which added to the pleasant experience. The restaurant offers a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a casual family outing or a special meal with friends. The service was friendly and efficient, ensuring we had a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. This is easily one of the best South Indian restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). For anyone seeking authentic South Indian cuisine, it’s a must-try. Whether you're a fan of dosas or traditional Indian desserts, this place offers something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Had a great experience at Guru Lukshmi. The filter coffee was great compared to most places in Toronto. The aloo masala dosa and plain dosa were amazing. Their plain dosa had the option of being made crispy or soft according to our preference, which was a nice touch. Since it’s a Michelin-star restaurant, they maintained their service at the highest level. The only disappointment was the tomato chutney, which tasted like it had freezer burn. Overall, our experience was great, and we will visit again soon.

We went there 10 days ago(last Tuesday) for Dinner. My friend booked the table in advance and for 4 people. This restaurant is generally busy even on weekdays, so it is advisable to book a table in advance. Orherwise you may have to wait for a longer time than you may expect. The food was good. The servicr was exceptional, eventhough the restaurant was packed. The waiter took our order patiently and repeated the order to confirm, he also answered our questions like what new and what is his suggestions. Upon asking to get utthapam he mentioned that it will take 20 minutes if that is okay for us to wait. He was happily doing his job. We ordered: 1 Medu Vada/ Sambar Vada (Sambar on side) - Soooo good 1 Mysore Masala Dosa, 2 Masala Bhaji Dosa, 1 Garlic Dosa and 1 Mango Lassi. Masala Bhaji Dosa was new Dosa added recently on their menu. I didn't find it hyped. It was juts Aloo Masala/Bhaji wih Raw chopped Bell Peppers & Onions. I would rather stick to Mysore Masala Dosa. The Dosas were quite filling. We all loved the Sambar

If you're craving authentic South Indian flavors, look no further—you've come to the perfect spot. While they may not offer a variety of fusion dishes, everything on the menu is cooked to absolute perfection. The flavors are consistently excellent, and you really can’t go wrong with any choice here. It’s a bustling place, so reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot. Be prepared for a lively atmosphere, as this popular spot is often packed. Trust me, every dish is a winner—you won't leave disappointed.
